Puffy vs Brentwood Home Cypress: Puffy Wins on Trial and Warranty

Choosing between the Puffy Cloud Mattress and the Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress comes down to how much certainty you want after delivery. Puffy offers a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty, while Brentwood Home lists a 1-year mattress trial and a 25-year limited warranty. Both are American-made memory foam mattresses, but the post-purchase terms differ sharply.

Who should buy the Puffy Cloud Mattress: shoppers who want a full year to decide, a lifetime warranty, and a medium-firm memory foam feel with a soft breathable knit cover. Puffy lists a 365-night trial, free shipping and returns, and a 100% money-back guarantee. Who should buy the Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress: shoppers who want a choice between all-foam and hybrid builds, or a medium soft to gentle firm feel from a Los Angeles handmade brand. Note that Brentwood Home states the 11-inch Hybrid and 13-inch All-Foam models are final sale, with no returns and no eligibility for the 1-year sleep trial. If a full trial period matters to you, that final-sale condition is a concrete disqualifier, and the Puffy Cloud, with its 365-night trial, is the alternative that fixes it.

How do the Puffy Cloud and Brentwood Home Cypress compare on feel and firmness?

The Puffy Cloud Mattress is listed as medium-firm with a cradling, body-adapting memory foam feel under a soft breathable knit cover. The Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress is offered in a medium soft or gentle firm feel, depending on whether you choose the all-foam or hybrid build.

Puffy describes the Cloud as delivering cradling back support with body-adapting memory foam, a feel that suits sleepers who want to sink in slightly without losing support. Brentwood Home positions the Cypress as a better, more affordable memory foam mattress, redesigned in 2020, with plush contouring comfort from its charcoal-infused foam. If you prefer a defined medium-firm starting point, Puffy’s stated feel gives you a clearer expectation. If you want to choose between a softer and a firmer build, Brentwood Home’s hybrid or all-foam options give you that flexibility.

What is each mattress made of?

The Puffy Cloud Mattress uses 6 layers and is assembled in the USA. The Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress uses CertiPUR-US certified charcoal-infused memory foam on top of polyurethane base foam with up to 20% plant-based BioFoam. All-foam Cypress models include an 8-inch contour-cut BioFoam support layer, while hybrid models add an 8-inch coil unit with reinforced edges.

Brentwood Home highlights its charcoal infusion as a temperature and moisture control feature. Puffy emphasizes its soft, breathable knit cover and body-adapting foam stack. For shoppers who want a coil option inside a foam-forward mattress, only the Cypress offers that choice, with pocketed coils that Brentwood Home says distribute body weight and reinforce the perimeter.

Side-by-side: Puffy Cloud vs Brentwood Home Cypress

The table makes the policy gap visible. Puffy pairs a full-year trial with a lifetime warranty and free returns, while Brentwood Home’s trial is shorter and its final-sale condition removes returns on specific Cypress models. On construction, only Brentwood Home offers a hybrid configuration, and only Puffy publishes a single medium-firm feel across its Cloud line.

Which mattress sleeps cooler?

Brentwood Home describes its Cypress charcoal-infused memory foam as naturally cooling, engineered to move moisture and heat away from the body. Puffy describes its Cloud mattress as cool to the touch with a soft, breathable knit cover.

Brentwood Home’s cooling story runs through the foam itself, with charcoal infusion handling temperature and moisture. Puffy’s cooling story runs through the cover, with a breathable knit designed to sleep cool at the surface. Shoppers who want a coil layer for airflow may prefer the Cypress hybrid, since Brentwood Home notes its pocketed coils and reinforced perimeter. Shoppers who want a simpler all-foam build with a cool-to-touch cover may prefer the Puffy Cloud. For a broader look at foam options, see our best memory foam mattresses of 2026.

What do trial, warranty, and shipping look like?

Puffy offers a 365-night sleep trial, a lifetime warranty, free shipping, free returns, and a 100% money-back guarantee. Brentwood Home offers a 1-year mattress trial and a 25-year limited warranty, with free shipping and products handmade in Los Angeles.

Puffy’s trial runs 365 nights while Brentwood Home offers a 1-year mattress trial, which works out to roughly the same calendar span, but Puffy pairs it with free returns and a money-back guarantee that Brentwood Home’s final-sale models do not carry. Puffy’s lifetime warranty also runs longer than Brentwood Home’s 25-year limited warranty. For shoppers who value a long trial and a strong warranty, Puffy’s terms are the clearer match. For shoppers who want a handmade Los Angeles mattress with a 25-year warranty and are comfortable with a final-sale purchase on specific models, Brentwood Home remains a reasonable choice.

How much do these mattresses cost?

Puffy lists a Columbus Day sale price on its site, so check today’s price before you buy.

Because the Queen sizes for both mattresses are unavailable or unpublished here, this comparison does not draw a value conclusion from price. What is clear is the policy value: Puffy’s 365-night trial and lifetime warranty come standard, while Brentwood Home’s final-sale condition on specific Cypress models removes the return option that a trial normally provides. Who should buy the Puffy Cloud Mattress?

Buy the Puffy Cloud Mattress if you want a medium-firm memory foam feel with a soft breathable knit cover, a 365-night sleep trial, a lifetime warranty, and free shipping and returns. Puffy’s Cloud is a 6-layer build assembled in the USA, listed as a best seller with a 4.9 rating across 14,072 Puffy mattress reviews. It suits shoppers who want one clear feel rather than choosing between firmness options, and who want a full year to decide at home with a money-back guarantee behind them.

Puffy also offers size options including Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King, Split Head Queen, Split Head King, and Split King, so couples with an adjustable base setup can find a configuration. If you sleep hot and want a cool-to-touch surface, Puffy’s breathable knit cover addresses that directly. If you want a coil option or a softer feel, the Brentwood Home Cypress is the better match on those two axes.

Who should buy the Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress?

Buy the Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress if you want a choice between all-foam and hybrid builds, a medium soft or gentle firm feel, and a handmade Los Angeles mattress with CertiPUR-US certified charcoal-infused memory foam and plant-based BioFoam. The Cypress comes in 11-inch Classic and 13-inch Luxe heights, with hybrid models adding an 8-inch coil unit with reinforced edges. It suits shoppers who want a coil option inside a foam-forward mattress and who are comfortable with a final-sale purchase on specific models.

Brentwood Home’s Cypress also suits shoppers who prioritize a 25-year limited warranty and a 1-year mattress trial over a lifetime warranty and a 365-night trial. The charcoal infusion and BioFoam base appeal to shoppers who want a more sustainable foam stack. If you want a full trial period with free returns, the Puffy Cloud is the better match. What is the Saatva Classic alternative?

The Saatva Classic is an innerspring mattress with a 3-inch Euro pillow top, a dual-coil design, and three comfort levels: Plush Soft at 3 out of 10, Luxury Firm at 5 to 7 out of 10, and Firm at 8 out of 10, where 1 is softest and 10 is firmest on Saatva’s own scale. It comes with a 365-night home trial, a lifetime warranty, and free white-glove delivery that includes in-room setup and removal of your old mattress. Saatva lists the Saatva Classic at $2,229 before the current sale discount.

The Saatva Classic differs from both the Puffy Cloud and the Brentwood Home Cypress in one clear way: it is an innerspring mattress with a Euro pillow top rather than a pure memory foam build. Saatva describes its dual-coil design as made from over 1,000 recycled carbon steel coils in full size and up, tempered three times for durability, with patented Lumbar Zone technology for spinal alignment. If you want a foam feel, Puffy or Cypress is the better starting point. If you want a hotel-style pillow top with coil support and a firmness choice, the Saatva Classic is worth a look. Frequently asked questions

Is the Puffy Cloud Mattress softer or firmer than the Brentwood Home Cypress?

Puffy lists the Cloud as medium-firm, while Brentwood Home offers the Cypress in medium soft or gentle firm depending on the build. If you want a single defined feel, Puffy’s medium-firm listing is the clearer starting point. If you want to choose between a softer and a firmer build, Brentwood Home’s hybrid or all-foam options give you that choice.

Does the Brentwood Home Cypress come with a sleep trial?

Brentwood Home offers a 1-year mattress trial on the Cypress, but states that the 11-inch Hybrid and 13-inch All-foam models are final sale, with no returns and no eligibility for the trial. Puffy’s Cloud, by contrast, carries a 365-night sleep trial with free returns and a 100% money-back guarantee. If a trial period with return options is important to you, check which Cypress configuration you are buying before you order.

Can I choose a hybrid version of either mattress?

Only the Brentwood Home Cypress offers a hybrid option, with an 8-inch coil unit and reinforced edges added to the memory foam build. The Puffy Cloud is an all-foam mattress with 6 layers of memory foam. If you want coils inside a foam-forward mattress, the Cypress hybrid is the only choice between the two. If you want a pure foam build, both mattresses qualify, with Puffy offering a single medium-firm feel and Brentwood Home offering medium soft or gentle firm.

Which mattress has a longer warranty?

Puffy’s Cloud carries a lifetime warranty, while Brentwood Home’s Cypress carries a 25-year limited warranty. Puffy’s warranty runs longer, and it pairs that with a 365-night sleep trial. Brentwood Home’s 25-year warranty is still substantial, and it comes with a 1-year mattress trial on eligible configurations. The choice depends on how much weight you put on warranty length versus construction options.

Do either of these mattresses come with free delivery?

Both mattresses list free shipping. Puffy states that the Cloud ships in 1 to 2 days with free shipping, free returns, and a 100% money-back guarantee. Brentwood Home states free shipping on the Cypress, with products handmade in Los Angeles. Neither brand’s pages reviewed here describe white-glove delivery or in-room setup for these two models. If white-glove delivery matters to you, the Saatva Classic includes it at no extra cost, along with old-mattress removal.

Verdict

The Puffy Cloud Mattress wins this comparison for most shoppers. Its 365-night sleep trial, lifetime warranty, free returns, and 100% money-back guarantee give you more certainty after delivery than the Brentwood Home Cypress, whose 11-inch Hybrid and 13-inch All-Foam models are final sale with no returns and no trial eligibility. Puffy’s medium-firm feel is clearly stated, and its cool-to-touch breathable knit cover addresses surface temperature directly.

The Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam Mattress wins for shoppers who want a hybrid option or a softer feel. Its all-foam and hybrid builds, medium soft or gentle firm feel, charcoal-infused CertiPUR-US certified memory foam, and plant-based BioFoam base give you more construction flexibility than the Puffy Cloud. The 25-year limited warranty and 1-year mattress trial on eligible configurations are solid, and the handmade Los Angeles build appeals to shoppers who value domestic craftsmanship. If you are comfortable with a final-sale purchase on specific models, the Cypress is a reasonable choice.

If you want a foam feel, stay with Puffy or Cypress.
