Saatva and DreamCloud advertise a 365-night home trial and long-term mattress warranties. The difference shows up in what arrives, how it arrives, and what you pay. The Saatva Classic is a dual-coil innerspring sold with three comfort levels, two mattress heights and free in-room delivery. DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is a foam-and-coil mattress with one firmness and a box-delivery setup.

What is the Saatva Classic actually like?

The Saatva Classic is an innerspring, not a bed in a box. Saatva says so directly on its own product page: mattresses arrive with free white glove delivery and in-home setup, and the delivery team will take away your old mattress if you select that option at checkout. Orders typically leave the factory within 9 to 21 days depending on your ZIP code.

Inside, the Classic uses two coil systems. A support coil base sits under a layer of individually wrapped pocketed coils, and Saatva publishes the counts by size: a Queen has 884 pocketed coils and 416 support coils, 1,300 in total. Above that sits a 3-inch Euro pillow top, and the cover is a breathable blend that includes organic cotton, treated with Guardin botanical antimicrobial treatment. Saatva describes the steel as triple-tempered recycled carbon steel, and the design includes its patented Lumbar Zone technology for the middle of the mattress.

Saatva lists CertiPUR-US certified foams and GREENGUARD Gold certification for the Classic, and says its mattresses contain no fiberglass. These certifications concern materials and emissions, not comfort or medical outcomes. They say nothing about comfort, and they are not a medical endorsement. Saatva does separately state that the Classic is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association, which is a claim Saatva makes on its own page.

The Classic is sold in two heights, 11.5 and 14.5 inches, in eight sizes, and in three comfort levels. Saatva rates Plush Soft at 3 out of 10 and recommends it for side sleepers and lighter people, Luxury Firm at 5 to 7 out of 10 as its most popular option for all sleep positions, and Firm at 8 out of 10 with a floating-on-top feel for stomach sleepers and heavier body types. Saatva describes its mattresses as designed for long-term use.

What is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid actually like?

DreamCloud sells the Classic Hybrid as a 12-inch, 6-layer mattress. The layers as DreamCloud lists them are a CloudQuilt Euro top, a contouring memory foam layer, an adaptive support layer, an individually wrapped coil system, a stabilization layer and a bottom cover. The cover is quilted with cooling fibers, and the mattress carries 1 inch of pressure-relieving memory foam. DreamCloud states the mattress is 100% fiberglass-free and CertiPUR-US certified.

There is one firmness. DreamCloud describes the Classic Hybrid as Firm, built for back and stomach sleepers who want a solid surface with minimal contouring, and its comfort control on the product page sits at a firm feel. If you want a softer bed, the Classic Hybrid is not the way to get it. DreamCloud does sell a Premier Hybrid at $400 more with a 13-inch height and, in its words, twice the contouring and cooling of the Classic, plus a Luxe Hybrid, which DreamCloud describes as having tri-zone support.

How do the 365-night trials differ?

Both brands advertise a 365-night trial, but the fine print runs on different rails.

Saatva offers a 365-night trial for mattresses and eligible bedroom furniture. Bedside tables have a 45-night trial, and adjustable bases are excluded from the trial. For eligible returns within the applicable window, Saatva refunds the purchase price including taxes and charges a $99 processing fee. A sleep guide contacts you within 24 hours of your request, schedules a pickup of the mattress, and the refund goes back to your original payment method. Mattress toppers are handled separately with a 180-night trial.

DreamCloud’s 365-night clock starts on the date of delivery. An opened mattress can be requested for return no earlier than 30 days after delivery and no later than 365 days after delivery; an unopened mattress can go back immediately, but a mattress left unopened for more than 90 days is treated as misused and becomes ineligible for returns and warranty claims. Returns run through donation partners who visit to assess the mattress, and it has to be in a condition where it can be donated: no rips, stains or signs of wear. The site advertises free shipping and returns, and its trial policy lists no charge for sending a mattress back.

The practical read: DreamCloud gives you 30 days of mandatory keep before you can even ask, and a return depends on a donation partner accepting the mattress. Saatva’s policy as published sets no minimum number of nights and charges $99 to process the return. Neither is a free, no-questions trial, and DreamCloud requires the mattress to be suitable for donation; Saatva schedules pickup under its own return process.

What do the warranties actually cover?

Saatva calls its coverage Friends for Life, and DreamCloud names its policy Forever Warranty. Both are limited warranties with a schedule attached.

Saatva’s Friends for Life warranty works in three parts. For the first two years, if the mattress is deemed defective, Saatva replaces it at no charge. From year three onward, for as long as you own the mattress, Saatva repairs and re-covers it, and you pay a $149 processing fee. Body impressions greater than 1.5 inches are covered. Stains are excluded; Saatva does not list a mattress protector as a formal warranty condition. Saatva also offers a separate Fairness Replacement Option if you would rather take a credit than a repair.

DreamCloud’s Forever Warranty, with an effective date of July 28, 2026, replaces the mattress with a brand new one of equal or greater value at no charge for the first 10 years of ownership. From year 10 onward, DreamCloud either repairs and re-covers the mattress or replaces it at DreamCloud’s option, and DreamCloud charges $50 transportation each way, waived if it confirms a defect. The published policy took effect July 28, 2026; buyers whose purchase predates that date are directed to customer support for their applicable terms. Stains, tears, burns and comfort preference are excluded, and the mattress must sit on a firm, solid surface.

The warranty names both promise long-term coverage, but their schedules differ. DreamCloud’s 10-year free replacement window is materially longer than Saatva’s 2-year window, while Saatva’s post-warranty repair fee of $149 is flat where DreamCloud’s $50 shipping applies in each direction. Read the defect definition, not the warranty name.

How should you compare the Queen prices?

Compare the Queen configuration at checkout, not a banner or a crossed-out reference price. The Saatva Classic price changes with mattress height and comfort level; DreamCloud promotions can also change the displayed total. Check the exact size, selected options, taxes and delivery before treating either offer as the amount you will pay.

The price difference is only part of the purchase. Saatva advertises free in-room setup and old-mattress removal; DreamCloud’s Classic Hybrid is shipped in a box for setup at home. Decide whether the lower checkout total is worth doing the setup yourself and giving up firmness options.

Choose the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid if the budget is the deciding factor and a firm, simple mattress suits you. DreamCloud advertises the same 365-night trial length and a warranty that provides free replacement during its first 10 years. Back sleepers and stomach sleepers are the fit DreamCloud itself describes; side sleepers who need pressure relief at the shoulder and hip should think carefully before buying a single firmness they cannot change after delivery.

Neither is right if you want an adjustable-air feel, since Saatva sells that in a different model, the Solaire, and DreamCloud does not offer one.
