A strong alternative

If you want a Saatva instead: Saatva Classic

The Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress feels medium firm: the surface gives slightly at the shoulders and hips, then the transition foam and 6.5 inch base foam push back so you rest on top rather than sinking to the bottom. Lucid describes the feel as versatile support for all sleep styles, and the zoned cuts in the top layer mean the give is deliberate at the shoulders, hips and knees rather than uniform across the surface.

Memory foam sleepers will recognize the slow contour of the gel swirl layer, but the graphene-infused fast response foam underneath keeps the feel from turning syrupy. That second layer responds quickly, so turning over does not feel like pulling your leg out of wet cement. The result is a mattress that cradles without swallowing, which is what “structured, versatile support” means in practice.

Because the whole build is foam, there is no coil bounce and no spring sound. If you like the sensation of a pillow top lifting you, this is not that mattress. If you want a flat, even surface that stays put when you move, the stacked foam design delivers exactly that.

The Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress is built around a cooling system that starts with a cool-to-the-touch cover and continues through ventilated Lucid Blue gel swirl memory foam and a graphene-infused fast response foam. Lucid says the cover delivers a refreshing feel the moment you lie down and that the Lucid Blue memory foam is designed to sleep cooler than traditional foam while contouring to shoulders, hips and lower back.

Cooling is the headline feature of this mattress, so it is worth understanding how the layers stack up. The cover handles the first impression, the gel swirl foam handles the middle of the night, and the graphene infusion in the response foam adds another heat-managing element to the top of the bed. None of this involves fans, pumps or phase change materials, which keeps the mattress simple and quiet.

Hot sleepers who want a foam bed should also read our best cooling mattresses roundup, where cooling technologies across brands are laid out side by side. That page covers the wider field of cooling constructions if you want to compare approaches before committing.

The Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress shows the Twin XL at a regular price of $599.99. Lucid also runs pre-order pricing on this model, so the number you see at checkout can differ from the list price; check today’s price before you buy.

The official page lists those four prices without pairing each one to a specific size, so check Lucid’s site for the price of the size you want. The Twin XL figure is the one size the page ties to a number directly: $599.99 regular. Everything else on the page, including the pre-order deposit structure, is a temporary arrangement tied to the current launch window.

Lucid’s own all-foam lineup starts lower, but the Blue adds the cool-to-touch cover, the graphene layer and the zoned cuts that the entry models do not carry. If your budget is the deciding factor, our best memory foam mattresses page sorts foam beds by price so you can see where the Lucid Blue lands against the field.

The Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial that starts the day the mattress arrives, plus a 10-year limited warranty that applies to products purchased in the United States. Shipping is free, returns are described as easy, and the mattress arrives in 2 to 6 business days.

A 100-night trial is enough to judge a foam mattress through several sleep cycles, which matters more here than on a spring bed because foam needs time to settle. Lucid asks you to allow 24 to 72 hours after unboxing for the mattress to decompress fully, so your trial clock and your first real night of sleep are not the same thing.

The 10-year limited warranty is the brand’s standard coverage on this model. It is a term limit rather than an ownership limit, which is the main structural difference from a lifetime warranty. If warranty length is a deciding factor for you, the Saatva Classic carries a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser, and the trial runs 365 nights rather than 100.

Skip the Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress if you want a responsive, springy surface, because this is an all-foam build with no coils and no bounce. Also skip it if you want a plush, body-hugging feel, since Lucid positions this model as medium firm with structured, versatile support rather than soft contouring.

Couples who are particular about motion transfer should know that the Lucid Blue is a solid foam slab, which generally means movement stays local rather than traveling across the bed. What the brand does not publish for this model is a motion isolation rating, so treat that as something to evaluate during the 100-night trial rather than a spec you can read off the box.

Edge support is another area where the official page stays quiet. The mattress is a uniform foam stack with zoned cuts in the top layer, but there is no stated edge reinforcement, so sleepers who sit on the edge of the bed every morning should test that during the trial. If a reinforced edge is non-negotiable for you, look at a mattress with a stated edge system.

Finally, sleepers who need a very firm surface for stomach sleeping should compare options before buying. The Lucid Blue is medium firm, which is a middle-of-the-road feel rather than a hard one. Our best firm mattress page lists beds built specifically for stomach sleepers and heavier body types if firmness is your priority.

The Lucid Blue Cooling Memory Foam Mattress is a 12 inch all-foam bed with a medium firm feel and a 100-night trial, while the Saatva Classic is an innerspring mattress with a dual coil system, a 3 inch Euro pillow top, and three comfort levels: Plush Soft at 3/10, Luxury Firm at 5-7/10, and Firm at 8/10 on Saatva’s own scale where 1 is softest and 10 is firmest. The Lucid Blue comes in one feel; the Saatva Classic lets you pick yours.
