That limit changes the mood before you even arrive. You aren’t stepping into a resort built for volume. You’re arriving on a small volcanic island group where walking and bicycles make more sense than cars, and where advance planning is part of the deal.<\/p>\n

The two-hour flight is the first filter<\/h2>\n

For swimming and snorkeling, plan around September through February<\/strong>. This is the warmer, busier period, so accommodation needs even more lead time. But the visitor cap means busy here still has a ceiling.<\/p>\n

The clear lagoon and reef system are the obvious reason to come in those months. And you don’t have to pretend the island is cheap or effortless to reach. Its appeal is that the constraints protect the experience you traveled for.<\/p>\n

Snorkeling, diving, birdwatching, cycling, hiking, and beach time are all part of the island’s appeal. Still, the best days probably won’t follow a schedule. Leave space for a slow ride, a long swim, and the change in light near the water.<\/p>\n

The number sounds like a marketing hook, but it is really a practical conservation choice. Fewer visitors mean accommodation remains limited, and the island stays low-key rather than turning into a place where every beach and path feels programmed.<\/p>\n
